Question large rapid breathing

My coastal carpet python for the first time ate a extra large rat yesterday without constriction after she ate a large rat..I am concern today as I notice large rapid breathing while on her heat rock...should I be concerned.

im not sure about your question, but on a side note if you dont have the heat rock on a rheostat it can burn out on full blast hot and cook the snake if its on the rock :X just fyi :P

Hard to say really, the heavy breathing could be from the exertion of eating, but please please please remove the heat rock. They are an old fashioned idea and very dangreous to the reptiles.

The breathing is normal for Carpets. Carpets tend to let out a loud raspy breath from time to time. Mine tend to do it when i put them back in their cages. Sometime it almost sound like a hiss, but it's not.

I just reread your statement. Is the breathing heavy and fast?
