Mexican (?) rosy boa pics, age estimates? subspecies?

Coaxed her out of her substrate burrow today and had some brief handling. She curled around one hand, gripping a lot stronger than the kingsnake we once had. So feels healthy and seemed curious w/o being overstressed while held (from what little I've learned so far about snake moods anyway). Never struck even when I picked her up, but did kind of gnaw at my arm and hand several times, never biting quickly or aggressively but moving head around against my skin with mouth open trying to get a grip. Is this odd behavior?

Fed her a pinkie in a tub outside the cage. She took it in her mouth from the forceps but didn't really strike or coil at all, just kind of let it loosen from the forceps to her mouth then pulled down and started to swallow. (Unusual for a juvy? Have read a characteristic is the quick strikes for food.) Had no trouble downing it, and after going back to her cage she explored around a good 10 minutes or so before burrowing under.

So finally got some pics and a fairly accurate length of 20" (same width of her home). Any estimates on age? And locality / subspecies?

Enjoying learning the differences between this and the kingsnake. Less agitated; more observant but less determined (?); grippy and stout! Haven't named yet and forgot to look more closely for spurs earlier.

Pics attached...

I've never been much of a rosy boa person, but I love her colors. She's very pretty!

Yes, I would call her a Mexican. I'm not good at telling different localities but since you don't know, from a very trustworthy source a narrower locale than that, you wouldn't be encouraged to use one anyway. The tasting thing is a little strange, she might just have been hungry. I've heard that almost any one who has issues with a nippy Rosy just needs to feed it more. I can't say from personal experience, since I haven't had that issue. Congrats on the new addition! Looks great!

Re: Mexican (?) rosy boa pics, age estimates? subspecies?

Cool thx for the feedback. I'll try to get some video next time she does it. When I held it at the store it nudged me several times with tip of nose but never opened her mouth. The salesgirl asked if it was trying to bite, so sounds like she's in the habit of these nibbles. Doesn't really seem agitated, but as if to say "well here is something else new to smell/taste; let's give it a go, why not?" Looks like they've had her on a schedule of every 5 or 6 days so I may try 4 to 5 then...
