Eve's Prolapse Update

Earlier last week I posted a thread regarding my Colombian Boa's rectal prolapse. Prior to that, I was unfamiliar with the condition and didn't know what I was looking at. Since then, I've been researching and researching as she attempts to recover.

The vet sutured up her vent on the sides to narrow it so that it would remain inside while still giving her room to "go." Those stitches were removed today and it still hasn't improved. So he decided to try one more time before we advance to more invasive procedures. Only this time he completely stitched it shut.

It's almost been a week since she last ate so she should be empty. Even still we are only trying this till Monday. If it still pushes out after then he may have to either stitch it to her from the inside, or surgically remove the protruding portion. He seems to think it will be the latter.

I feel bad for her and I can tell she is uncomfortable. Her activity has slowed and she has spent more time hiding. I wish I could give her some ice cream (the universal "my butt hurts" treat) lol.
