Re: my mean green machine
They are a blast to work with, biggest piece of advice I can give you is dont let them get under things you yourself cant lift :P once they pass the 8-9 foot mark they are incredibly strong.

Re: my mean green machine
Thanks for all the warm welcomes and comments!
My anaconda is currently pushing about 3ft. I got him as an import from a previous owner that patched him up good, you can still see some old water blister scars on the poor guy, sometimes i think their scars from mites. Non the less hes an entertaining little fellow and his attitude is fairly calm. Iv touched him a few times and he never really seems to care, so im hoping his handling sessions will go ok.

Re: my mean green machine
If you have any question feel free to ask. I have a Yellow that's almost two years old. By the size i would say yours is under 6 months old. So what are your plans for a cage when it gets bigger?

Thanks! My first choice was a yellow but i got a green instead.
Iv actually build a few custom enclosures so thats my plans for when he gets bigger. Im thinking a 6x4 would be a decent size. As for heat im either going to place a heat lamp on the inside or maby a UTH? Whichever works better. I currently have him in a 55gal fish tanl with a 75wt black heat bulb and its been working very good, of course the humidity is hard to keep up though. But his tank usualy stays at a steady 80° with a basking temp of 90-95°. His humidity ranges from 60-80% but i provide him a large water source anyways.
Since iv had him hes ate twice very well and he just shed 3 days ago. I feel like its a good time to start his handling sessions. So i may start handling him today.

Re: my mean green machine
Give him a few days to settle, the standard is 7. If its a male, a 6 foot enclosure Might be ok, annies tend to get girthy and unless you let him out pretty often you might want to bump that up to an 8 just in case he does get bigger then expected. If its a girl, you should probably invest in an 8 foot enclosure, if you make it any deeper then 2 feet cleaning it will be a pain, and if you make it any higher then 18-20 inches your just building space he wont use in the future (unless its a female and the enclosure will be used as a breeding enclosure)
