Fire Breather!
(i was just going to post the fire breather thing, so thats the name of the thread, woops!)
So i've always loved photography, but always did dark room work (and have never scanned my pictures, lol) So I recently got into digital a bit, and am still messing around with it. I'm not used to working with color yet, so my light setups are wonky cause they mix different yellows/blues and everything comes out poorly..
anyway,
I'll get some good snake pics once i've had him for more than a few weeks and I get my stupid light setup working how I want it..
anyway..
Found this really old picture of when i met a guy who did fire breathing, we hung out for a bit then he agreed to do a show, went back to his place grabbed his crap and comeback, took the pic with a crappy pocket camera cause I didnt have an SLR yet.. not bad for being 14! Man this brings me back!
My aunt wanted a picture from her garden to put up in her office, so i made this (only picture I edited here, still go with my film style stuff lol):
and had it framed, she was pretty happy :P
I also did a gradient of it, but the digital file is about 120,000 pixels and printed was 9 feet long, it was an epic print lol!
I like this one because its not what it appears to be:
I'll give you a hint.. the foreground is actually the clouds.. I was in a plane!
and this is what (i did no editing on this) sunsets look like where I grew up..

Luckily i had acess to a roll printer on campus, so it was free, at first people were like "wait you cant do that" and i was like "if its not huge, it takes away from what I want it to be. I thought this was an art class?!"
then I printed it out and tacked it up in the hallway, super huge (its a bunch of that flower one after another in gradient colors w/ black background)
I got an A in that class, not bad for not being a photo major.. derr

Re: Fire Breather!
Firebreathing... yeah its definitely better to do that trained....
Great shots, I love the one from inside the plane, crescent moons are one of my favourite things for some reason. Really cool perspective to see it in. Sunsets are pretty amazing here once in a while, but that looks sooo cool. I would love to take pictures of a snake in that lighting, I could only imagine the results...
I'm with you on the bigger is better when it comes to photography, a few people have taught me the value of that. Now how do you supposed I go about getting a camera that takes 140,000 pixel shots??? I would love some for my bedroom. That would be really cool!

You can combine pictures (using a tripod makes it much easier) into one gigantic picture using photoshop or gimp, its easier than it sounds to make it look seamless, i did a big mountainscape that was actually a 360 degree panoramic shot from up on a little mountain i climbed, its sittin on a hard drive somewhere, lol!
i think it ended up being 30 or so pictures combined into one
i mean i just use one of these:
