what do you guys think

So I just found out that the breeder that identified my snakes doesn't actually breed Boas ......... or have snakes right now. So I don't trust what he said. Gungirl is going to post pics for me as I can't upload from my phone.

First is Gabby. He is 29 inches according to his shed today. I bought him as a common bci from the pet store. Four months later when I was dropping of a mouse shipment the guy that was doing reptiles informed me that his buddy got one at the same time and that it was a salmon or pastel I can't remember which. He believes Gabby is one of them.

Next is Scamper. I got him from a guy that was moving and said it was vicious( totally not btw). He got it from the mom and pop pet store as A true bcc. I know that that store is pretty good at labeling its reptiles. He is a year and a half and between 36-42 inches.

Finally is Kota. He is a 100% het for albino. I am the third owner not counting the breeder. He is a proven breeder according to a third party ( long story). He has a really nice tail pattern. I described it to a local boa fanatic and he offered me 150 sight unseen. I showed him a few days later and he told me it was just a common but still offered me 150. I told him I was keeping it and he offered me my choice of two of his juvenile or adults or three of his hatchlings. This is the one the "breeder" aka idiot said was a motley. So any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Also I love my snakes and it truly doesn't matter what they are.

Re: what do you guys think

The shed stretches, it's not an accurate form of measurement. Unless you have bought the boas from a reputable breeder we can only take a guess. Bcc's are bread with bci's so much nowadays. If you are not breeding, the only thing that should matter is YOU like them so who cares what they are. For piece of mine they all look like colombians.. Maybe. The only one who know us the one who bred them and even then who is to say he didn't cross breed.

Re: what do you guys think

Thanks jay! I am cool with that. I love em all no matter what they are. I have posted in another thread how I acquired them so its not like I got ripped off. I know that Kota is het for albino so. . I don't plan on selling though I got another offer on Kota last night. He seems popular for some reason. Jay can you tell me what exactly makes a motley?

Re: what do you guys think

It's a genetic co dominate mutation, that was named Motley due to resemblance of the motley corn sanke, a fusion of dorsal striping with no side pattern. I could be mistaken, I have not done to much research on the trait.

Re: what do you guys think

BCC
scale counts - 75 to 95 dorsal rows.
227 to 250 ventrals.
49 to 62 subcaudals.

BCI
scale counts - 56 to 79 dorsal rows.
225 to 253 ventrals.
47 to 65 subcaudals.

And don't forget about, bcl, bco and bca's

Bcc tend to become larger. They also will have a more deeper red tail.
