How many boas.......
Hey all. I just got a new amazon tree boa and don't have room for all of them ATM! I have a 30 inch red tail boa in with a 3 ft red tail boa. They are in a 70 gallon aquarium (minus the water!) Can I put my 4 ft boa in there for the short term. I should have my other cage done by tomorrow.

Re: How many boas.......
Co-habilitation is sketchy especially with 3 snakes and 2 species. (depends on the species)
My big worry would be quarantine, and the big snake crushing the lil ones.

Re: How many boas.......
I would get 2 tubs and set up temporary enclosures for 2 of them. Co-habitation is far to risky IMO.

Thats why I suggested getting 2 tubs.. leave 1 snake in the terrarium and place 2 in tubs.

Re: How many boas.......
I think that co- habitation can work fine within the same species, I housed to Bp's in the same enclosure and they did fine, but they were siblings so their sizes were pretty much the same; the challenge is keeping track of their Bm's.

Re: How many boas.......
OK. My Amazon would go in his own and my 4 ft red tail would have joined my other redtails. But I dug out an old set up I had forgotten about. The Amazon is staying in a 20 gallon for the night.

Re: How many boas.......
you still should be separating the boa's. they will be living in a stressful environment with one another. Even if you need to keep them in Rubbermaid tubs for a little bit it would still be better than cohabitation.
p.s why are you taking in more animals if you don't have the means to properly house them?

Re: How many boas.......
I agree that getting tubs so you can house them individually would be the safest option.

Re: How many boas.......
I also support the idea of just getting a few tubs, they're handy for quarantine and future situations like this. And the best part? They're cheep.
