Steve is shedding

Kinda badly.

What else can I do? I'm misting him more than usual. He gets a bath every other day. He eats his greens and crickets and mealworms. Seems quite healthy. Only hi head shed but his body did not. It's not coming off like a jacket the way it should...

This is him the day before he started to shed. He has some cork branches that have rough bark so it's not that he can't rub the skin off. He has a water dish that he can easily get into if he were so inclined.

Re: Steve is shedding

perhaps it would help if you defined "bad shed", Lizards often shed in pieces over a few days its totally normal

Re: Steve is shedding

Looks pretty normal to me, our lizards lose shed over about 14 days, just check toes and tails shed completely and should be fine.

Re: Steve is shedding

Ok. I'm used to iguanids shedding in a couple of days and usually in a couple of large pieces like a trench coat. I'll keep an eye on him.

Re: Steve is shedding

Your doing the right thing. Baths every couple of days. Most beardie owners don't mist because they don't want to introduce moisture into the viv.
He will be fine, they almost never shed all at once. Usually the head, the torso, the legs and the tail all happen at different times.
