praying mantis

hiya i have a young african lined mantid but yesturday i checked on it to find it lying on the bottom not moving , i really thought it was dead, so i got it out and put it in the palm of my hand but still no movement and it was brown instead of green, i then blew on it sharply a couple of times and a few seconds later it moved its leg a tiny bit so i realised it wasnt completely dead but most ppl would of given up and put it out of its misery but i decided i was gonna bring it back to life. so for half an hour i blew gently on it and gragually it would move its leg a bit more and then it moved its head a bit and some how i knew it was gonna be ok but everyone else in the room didnt believe me so i just carried on gently blowing and prayin untill eventually it managed to stand up and look at me . for a while it kept falling over but now it is completly fine looking happy and healthy it was sooo amazing.
has any1 any idea what just happend?.
