Need ID

I found this little guy outside in my backyard and am trying to find out if it is a turtle or a tortoise. He/she has alittle shell damage, he's also very tame, seems like a lost pet. Does not appear to have any webbing on feet, which leads me to believe its a tortise but it possibly looks like an eastern box turtle.

Definitely a nice looking, female?, Terrepene c. carolina--(Eastern Box Turtle)...most likely searching for a suitable nesting site.
