Talking Best Christmas Gift!

So as a few of you may have read in my previous forum, I was looking for a male ackie recently to pair with my female, who is now full grown and who I am hoping to mate. They are hard to find in Ontario, and I just couldn't locate one that was around the same age and size as my girl, and I had pretty much given up the hunt for now, and was going to try again at the next reptile expo. So on Christmas morning I am opening gifts from the family and my mom comes in the room witha big bag stuffed at the top with tissue paper, and when I open it guess who crawls out? Lol, my mom (who is NOT a reptile person) managed to find a 3 yr old male ackie, just a little small for his breed (as is my female) who is absolutely perfect! Needless to say I was completely surprised, and thrilled, but a little worried about introductions, seeing as it was an arranged marriage Well he ate right away, and was happy and healthy for a couple days, so I decided to put him in with the female, and it went great! They took a minute or two to size each other up, and then (very rudely!) he got straight to.....um...... "getting aquainted" so to speak, lol. Obviously they are not mating yet, but he certainly can't be accused of lack of trying, and she has taken to him very well, she doesn't seem to mind his attepmts, and puts him in his place with a nip if he bugs her too much. I had to leave for work that day, but much to my relief they were sitting tangled up together under the heat lamp when I came back and seemed very content (and for anyone who did read my earlier post about ackies missing toes, the boy is missing a lot of his toes and couldn't be cuter, or could I be happier with him; it is almost an advantage because he can't scratch her) So my question is............... Did anyone else recieve any scalely friends for Christmas? And if so, lets see them! (pics of my pair are soon to come, it seems that I got up earlier then them this morning, and they are still sleeping as a write this, lol)

Re: Best Christmas Gift!

my christmas presents came a little early this year. I picked up four cages from Boa Master anda 10' male tiger retic and a male? mangrove snake. The tic is sooooo high strung. He is not agressive but he does not take to being handled well. He is constantly on the move when he is outsideof his cage. The mangrove is great. He is eating f/k mice with absolutely no porblems. Gonna try giving him a small rat next time I feed but am just really happy that he is feeding at all considering it is a wc adult. Todd
