The Numbers

Im more used to F0 F1 F2... etc, when it come to fish and if they are WC and the generations bred in CT. So im wondering what the 0.1,0.2, or 2.0 numbers mean what its relating to snakes.

Re: The Numbers

So 0.1 is male , 0.2 female. 2.0 is unknown?
And its not related to being WC and the generations born afterwards?

Re: The Numbers

Most often you only see the two numbers.....the unknown is the 3rd in the set. if there are only 2 present it's just the number of males vs females nothing to do generations...that is completely seperate.

Re: The Numbers

So to elabroate if you have 3 males boas along with 2 females and one that has not been sexed yet then the count would read 3.2.1.

Hope this helps!

To use your post as an example 0.1 stands for 1 female, 0.2 stands for 2 females & 2.0 stands for 2 males. As far as generations go the F1 F2 etc. works the same way for reptiles. basically to state what others have its:

male(s) . female(s) . unknown sex(es)

so 1 male is 1.0, 1 female is 0.1, one unknown is 0.0.1 Once you get used to it its easy, we have all been where you are now, Mark

Re: The Numbers

Yep & if there are no unknowns involved its only the first 2 used. Example 0.1 is one female, no need for 0.1.0 to be used. Pretty much first generation bred are F1s & so on same as fish. Mark
