snakes are solitary animals that prefer to live alone outside of the breeding season. you shouldnt keep two snakes of the same species together let alone two different species. they would probably end up becoming overly stressed and die.

Corn and Royal

I keep an adult corn and juve royal python in the same viv (about 6 months). I am not the only person I know who has this combo in the same viv. Apart from pretending the other doesnt exist they dont bother with each other. I dont feed them at the same time or in the viv.

Rather than someone spouting opinion like 'not a chance', they could be helpful and state reasons.

There IS always the possibility that one will eat the other so my answer would be - It is your gamble, if you cannot bear the thought of the chance of one eating the other DO NOT put them together.

Occasionally i will put my boas together for cleaning etc, but always for less than 24 hours and always similar sized snakes, as for letting them stay together permanently i would say a definite no.
The reasons are that
-1 could eat the other,
-they would stress each other ie if 1 goes into shed and the other is all over it
-you would have to feed them out of the tank and therefore have to handle them when they are digesting(not good)
hope this helps.
As for "padded" i'm really not impressed that you are willing to take the chance that one will eat the other when you know full well what the risks are.

why would someone even post that there doing something so dumb, thats like me saying "i have spitting cobras".

people have to realise that snakes and lizards are NOT disposible pets and should not be treated as such. its people like this that are bringing this industry down.

if they were even close to the same care needs i wouldnt care so much but there not.

look even the same snake species shouldnt be kept together... if one gets sick both get sick. 2 vet bills. stress causes bad eating and sheds, pathogins ect ect.. there are millions of reasons, i just dont care to list them.

if you dont have room to keep 2 snakes in seperate enclosures at all times than you shouldnt have 2 snakes.

Ha ha. Look Yungwon, no-one is killing snakes, if I wanted my snakes dead they would be housed with my rats, or the cat, or the dog. If I was not confident that my snakes were safe I would obviously not keep them together. I should have stated before that the particular viv that this pair are in is 2m / 1m / 1m and I speak as a guy who has 7 snakes all happy and healthy. As I also stated I am not the only person with this combo and so there are obviously conflicting ideas on this. Do as you feel is best!

snakes are solitary animals and should be kept as such.

even the idea of a ball in a 6 ft long enclosure is proposterous. they perfer security. not room.

different ppl have different ideas on what healthy is. some think cause there snakes are eating and sheding there healthy. this is not the case, just cause your snakes seem healthy doesnt mean they are.

padded. i dont mean to be commin down on you. which i am. im sorry for that. if you keep your snakes as such thats your decision. but i would definatly not condone that kind of behavior for someone relatively new to the industry. it puts an extreem twist on things and ppl will start to believe that all balls and corns can live together. generally its not good to mix snakes unless breeding espically ones of different localities.

your only nine years older.. your such a tool..

look i breed many things and have probably been studying and keeping herps for much longer than an idiot who keeps a Python regius and an Elaphe guttata guttata together (sorry, thats a royal python and corn snake just in case latin confuses you ).

Plus this industry kid has already proven a higher intelligence than you buy just reading posts

sorry if I used to many large words. As stated above. If you keep balls and corns together that’s you decision. But to someone new to the industry lets keep things simple. They should not be kept together.

once again im sorry for comin down on you its just better this way. now hopefully, even though im only 20, ppl will listen to me rather than you. you know. just because i didnt call you on in a childish fight, they might realise you really are a tool
