Important:Reptile Prohibition by-laws

Just to let everyone in BC know that the District of the Okanagan, City of Coquitlam and City of Surrey are all considering bylaws to prohibit reptiles kept as pets.
Things you can do:
Even if you don't live in these places write to them and tell them that keeping reptiles is important to you.
Keep your reptiles properly! Give them all the care they need, give them big and enriching habitats and dont over breed or breed to young etc. And please for gosh sakes keep your animals in secure escape proof cages and dont go around scaring people with them! When people do any of the above it gives animal activists ammunition.

Being heard at their council meetings before they make the laws is important. Ottawa just had reptile bylaws go in and the petstores didn't raise a fuss until after the laws went into effect.... a little late if you ask me... kinda like plugging the bucket after all the water has left.
