male burm length
Hello, I just purchased a two week old normal phase burm and have heard different stories as to their growth potential versus female growth. Anyone have any input? Thanks.....chris

You should always keep in mind that any Burmese python can reach an enormous size, but with males they do tend to remain quite a bit smaller then females.

I think using the word "smaller" in any way to discribe the large boids is inaccurate. On normal they dont get AS LARGE. a male burm can reach 14-17 easily. but the norm is around 12 feet from what Iv seen.
but be ready for at least ~15 feet of snake regaurdless what sex you get.

Maybe this research should have been done before purchasing the snake.

this research was done and quite thoroughly at that. If 10 people see a car accident you're going to get 10 different versions of what happened. i've heard of them reaching 11-12 feet when others say they know of 16 foot specimens. Please don't insult me with "high horse" attitude. Thank you for the relevant responses from others. No hard feelings by the way.........Chris

Hence why I said, smaller then females, but yes I can see how it could be misleading, a male will still regularly reach 15' ,

It's all good, I just know some simi delusional people who will read it/tell them selves they stay small when you say smaller. Because there are 12 foot full grown females and some people even knowing that this isnt even close to the norm will think "well my male could be only 8-9 feet depending how much I feed it".
people who want something will bend what you tell them to better suit their wants and needs (though noone NEEDS a snake).

Yea just plan on it getting big, I agree that male burms dont get as large as females but there can be cases when males can get larger so the only true way is to wait and see, but regaurdless plan on a snake 10+ feet
Good Luck with your new burm

My male burm is 14 feet and I m sure he will still put on a few more feet in his life time, so yes males can get as massive as a female burm!
