It seems there has been a progression of euphemisms to obscure the nature of the wild harvested ball pythons exported from Africa.
Terms such as "ch" for "captive hatched" neglect to mention that it's from eggs either dug up directly or from already bred females dug up. Then you have "farmed" but it's really more harvesting than actual farming which implies some sort of animal husbandry. For some time there have been those who corrupt "cb" to mean "captive born" rather than "captive bred". Of course regardless of if you consider pythons "born" or "hatched" both "captive born" and "captive hatched" leave out the difference between them and "captive bred" - where the breeding took place. I think it's the cooption of "cb" that lead to the term "cbb" for "captive bred and born".
