Post feeding????

I recently tried to switch my female bp on weaned rats.I was feeding her adult mice before. She hasn't eaten in about 2 months now.I know that bb's can be very picky sometimes.Should i be concerned with her not eating in such a long period of time? The husbandry of the cage is set just right!!

How old is the snake?

It is kinda the season for taking a break from eating. If your snake is an adult, with good weight...two months is not a big deal at all and she might just be fasting.

They can be quite tricky sometimes to switch over it seems, but be persistant and never offer another mouse to her again, only rats. Try really late at night, with a really hot thawed rat....you could also try scenting a dead rat with dirty mouse bedding or a mouse.

She is about 7 or 8 months old.She shedded about three weeks ago.She has grown in size. She's about 24".Is that kinda small for a 7 or 8 month old bp??

I have some that age and size, they are mouse eaters!! LOL, if you aren't concerned with her gaining weight quickly and are willing to simply not feed her unless she takes a rat go for it, if she isn't losing weight then she is ok. I tried that for some of mine but after 3 months of not eating I gave!! I will gladly feed her mice as many as she wants as long as she is eating and gaining. I do offer rats first though, but won't starve them haven't had this work for any of mine.

Are you sure?
Other reasons your ball may not be eating is that your husbandry (regardless of how good you think it may be) may be off. What are your temps and such?

make 86-90....90-95. That would be "just right".

And that's just for ONE SIDE of the cage, not the WHOLE cage.
