worring about my gravid female
I have a female that is almost 3 weeks now since fertizilation. This is her first clutch ever. I'm just worring that she is having complications laying. She's very fat and has been in the laying box, but always comes out and doesnt lay. Is she being disturbed by the other cage mates?
anyone have any ideas?

Well my buddy's leo just layed eggs.. She was gravid for a month and a half vet said she was fine, today she layed 2 HUGE eggs. I mean huge! She was a carrot tail and the male was a tremper giant no clue if that had anything to do with egg size but these eggs almost double the size of mine. Could just be a later layer but 3 weeks isn't a long time to wait anyways.

She will go in and come out frequently. She will like do so for a few weeks before laying anything. One of my females lays eggs once a month, whereas most of my others are every 17-21 days. I even have one laying every 12-13 days. They vary greatly, so hang in there and don't worry

Yea three weeks isn't anything to worry about, it's just a tease tho you keep checking all the time waiting impatiently LOL I've noticed that my 1 females first set of eggs were huge compared to all the rest since, so I assume its because of her storing so much calcium over xmas time. I guess the first set of eggs got super calciumed Oh and my females will dig around for days then lay the eggs. Keep in mind a leo will search for laying sites for quite some time before they actually need to lay eggs too.

Ok,
she is my larger female, and she is really fat. It only took 14 days for my other female to lay. Are the first eggs always duds, or are they sometimes good, i am am asking this because my other females eggs have been in the incubator for 6 days now, and are still very white? I thought they were supposed to be infertile because of my male being so young, (assumed to be 8 months) and becuase it's my females first time?
!!I'm so excited. Can't wait.

Sometimes younger females will lay duds the first time around. I have one very special girl(long story ) who laid eggs this year. She is 2½ and her first eggs are both fertile. Probably because I waited until she was older. My guess is that once your girl starts she won't stop! LOL

Yea I found 2 eggs tonight (two different mothers) and 1 female has not been with the male for about 1.5 months or so, and was only mated once, her first set of eggs were duds, but this single egg seems great. Weird thing is the other female looks like shes about to lay eggs still, so I think she has another egg or two cooking still, or it could be another females. Tough to tell. I know that I had heard that females can retain sperm for a while but this was cool

haha Found 2 more eggs today. I think the single egg was from another gecko, Druid. Either way a good 2 days, 4 eggs in 2 days is cool!! I'm at 21 eggies now

HAHA, good news, she layed her eggs today(this morning). They are safely incubating, hopefully they won't be duds. My other ones are very white so I think they r fertile. I felt bad because after I removed the eggs, she went back in the box and began digging again, I think she was looking for them..
4 eggs in total now,
I hate waiting!
