Ball with ticks...
Greetings all,
I purchased a ball the other day and it had friends that came with it ticks. How aggressive are wild balls and how to rid of tix?
Thanx
Jay

Pick 'em off one by one. While you're doing that, you might want to think about how much of a waste of time this was and think twice about getting a WC animal next time.

First off to me it's not a waste of time, Because their are very few tix on him/her and second when I purchased this ball from the LFS and they never said it was WC. I assumed he/she was because it had tix and I'm not a 100% sure he/she is WC.

I don't know an CB ball pythons that come with Ticks, mites possibly, but ticks......
Anyway good luck with your WC, but I would try and make sure to get CB next time as they are as readily avilable as WC if not more so.

Adam, but there's no way you can "save a few bucks" by picking up a CB over a WC.

Sure you can, vet visits, mite treatments, time spent pulling ticks off, at the end of the day a CB will be the cheaper choice. Not saying that a CB will never have to go to a vet but I would not be worried about getting it to a vet first thing when coming from a reputable breeder as opposed to straight out of the wild.
But then again most people who buy WC are either uninformed or are looking to save a few bucks now but not looking toward the future care.

I think the diffrence is Captive Born or Captive Hatched means the eggs were taken out of the wild or the mother was gravid when taking out of the wild and the eggs were hatched in captivity. I have no idea about temperment diffrences or how they act compared to true Captive bred hatchlings that were born from two captive parents.
