This was kind of weird. Two clutches, laid about 4 days apart, all exploded within a couple hours of each other. It sort of makes me wonder if there was a trigger.
Abour 24 hours before they hatched I noticed the incubation medium was becoming dry, and dampened it a little bit.

AWWWW....
They're so slimy They're so adorable, congradulations Jen. I always thought it was neat how eggs from the same clutch hatch at the same time.

Oh sooo cute
Congrats!
You could be right about the trigger. Remoistening the incubation medium could be the same as rain in the wild, which often triggers hatching. If I've got some eggs that are overdue, I sometimes add a few drops of water to the substrate to see if it triggers hatching. It works more often than not.

ok, i have a silly question. in that first pic, it looks like the lil guy has some kind of lid covering most of his eye... or does his eye color match his skin tone???
never seen that before.

I was expecting a christmas themed thread and had all my sarcastic remarks all worked out.
I can't say that I am disappointed though, these are really cool pics. Best of luck with the new babies
