Are you legal?
I highly advise all my friends here on the forum to double check their local city, county laws to see if the reptiles they keep are legal. It could save you a lot of the heartache I am going through now.

In Malta all reptiles are illegal due to some stupid laws. But they never really do checks so I keep 1.1 Testudo Kleinmanni (Egyptian Tortoises) and 0.0.1 Corn

Tell us how your hearing went. I hope it went well, but an update would be nice.

I always say that it is only illeagl if you get caught. How ever since I live about 2 miles outside the Houston city limit their snake laws don't apply to me. I can still keep venomous snakes and snakes longer than 8 ft with out permits. I do know quite a few people who ignore that law b/c it is absolutely rediculous that people who have no idea about snakes get to make all the decisions about them.

No one knows, and its none of their business what I do in my house. I'm not hurting anyone else. If they want to find out they better get a search warrant. Otherwise I don't invite anyone in.

I think as long as you don't walk around the street with a ten footer, and watch who you tell then you should be alright.
