Without forceps?
Does anyone feed some of there balls with forceps or tongs? My girl eats of tongs but my male won't, he just eats it off the ground overnight. I think it is better that way, just throw in the rat and he eats.
Do any of your balls eat without forceps?
Thanks

i usually just set the mice in his feeding box and let him do the rest. if he seems not to notice the food then i use tongs, i use the tongs two ways. just dangle the food in front of the snake, or drag the along the bottom of the box by the tail (i figure it looks more like the actual motion of the animal). both work for me, but i dont have a picky eater.

I have some of both and some that will take either. I must say the ones where you can just put it in their enclosure and come back 20 min later are much easier. All depends on the ball though.

my male needs to be teased. One of my females will only eat when its left over night (tonight she actually struck and missed) and my newest female will eat it either way. Shes the best feeder ive ever seen. She even just struck randomly as I walked by her cage

My females only eat stuned, I just leave the mouse in front of his hide, and I need to tease my small male. It's all up to the snake.

I do both. My ball usually eats off my hemostats but every once in a while he doesn't... In the middle of one of those times right now. refused his last meal and it's starting to look like he'll refuse this one as well.
He's gone off food for a couple of months over the winter a couple of times since i've had him (9 years) and we did just have a big weather change here in Edmonton in the last week so i'm chalking it up to that for now
