Milksnake Round-Up
I am proud to announce the addition of a new sub-species of Milksnake to my collection. I was fortunate enough to be offered this unusual pair from Paul at BigHillReptiles.
Many thanks Paul.
Unfortunately, i now have to tell Paul not to come over anymore...Each visit to my place by Paul has increased my snake numbers by 4 or more respectively. He knows i have a hard time saying no to a milk when its put in my face. lol!
In addition to the Staurt's, i also allowed Paul to increase my Sinaloan collection to 5 with the introduction of a stunning pair of spotted Sinaloans.
My My My. I only wanted 1.1 of each. I'm not greedy. I didnt intend on having 10 of each sub species but its certainly running that way.
Enjoy the picks.
I'm always on the look out for milk sub species that i dont already have.
Thanks
Brian

Very nice!
I'm very jealous of the stuart's, I know them as the Nicaraguan milksnake and I, being Nicaraguan, would like one.

Jim: New Brunswick's herpers numbers are growing fast and that "no temptation" luxury would be a short term thing i think.
How those hondos/pueblans?

Pales would be a great find. I think i've only seen them for sale a couple times.
But on the other hand, this is the first time i've seen Staurts for sale.

I am really not familiar enough with different milk species to know the features that are distinctive about Stuart's. Is it mostly about scale counts or is the relatively high triad count and the crossing over and meeting of the black rings with relatively narrow red bands distinctive to this species?
There have been a lot of various milk species displayed lately on alternate sites but I haven't seen any other pictures of Stuart's there - they must be relatively uncommon.
Thanks for any additional info on these - seems the more I see these different tricolor milks the more they start to look alike to me!
