heating a rubbermaid

ok, I got an 18.9L rubbermaid today and thought I would set up a home for a baby carpet. (havent made any deals on a snake yet buy hey, might as well be ahead of the game!)

I was just wondering how you heat a rubbermaid safely. will a UTH work or get too hot?
if not a uth what?

Build or buy a rheostat, and run your heat pad through that. There's a good description of how to build one out of 10$ or so worth of home depot parts...check the enclosure forum. Use a decent thermometer to monitor temps, or even better, a temp gun.

Oh, the directions are in the "Tips from our Members" thread in general enclosures, and the one I'm referring to is "Make your own Rheostat! Authors: Katey and Lisa". Excellent, simple and clear.
