baby pictures and a ?

Hey all. I told you I'd get a better picture of the baby once she/he settled in. She was born on the 30th. my question is, she still has a bit of shed on her head, should I remove it with a q-tip or wait a bit longer? Seems to me it should all be gone by now? But this is my first baby, only had juvies before the babies hatched. I had another hatch out yesterday. Very sweet but not sure if she will be as strong as the first. She is smaller and there was still so much fluid in the egg. The first baby had none left. This little girl had more than half the egg full of liquid and she was walking kind of funny but seems much better today, walking normal and looking much more like the first hatchling.

ANd here is a close up of her. See what I mean about the shed on her head? Should I remove it, I've been spraying the cage 2-3 times a day.

Thanks for looking, and again, any advice about the shed is welcome.

its very nicely colored! i dont keep cresties, but if one of my other geckos had retained shed for more than 4 days i would gently remove it. but i understand that cresties may have significantly differant skin than the species i keep (aft, leo, golden, tokay) so im not sure.

ya, with my leos I would normally remove it if they had something like this but the cresties seem to shed differently when newly hatched. My leos don't shed till they are a couple days old. The cresties seem to shed on the same day. I think if it isn't gone by tonight I will remove it because me second gecko was born on the 1st and looks like she is shed except for a small part on her tail. Not sure If I'd be brave enough to touch the tail. lol.

I find a good way to remove it is to spray it off.

I would just get the tweezers and pull gently. I also have this product called "Shed-Aide" for reptiles and has worked well for my animals when they have a difficult shed. Hope this helps!

Thanks for all the help. I too have shed-aid. Got it when I recieved a leo with really bad shed conditions and he is super with sheds now. I removed it by spraying water several times and gently peeling it off. He is doing much better now and is eating and active. The second hatchling came out on the 1st and is also doing well. Had no problems shedding, and is now eating as well. Thanks again for all the help.
