More blackhead python pictures

A few people asked about full body shots of our blackheads in another post.

http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/showt...threadid=48504

I took some of the male today, but did not get any of the female as my camera batteries went dead after 2 pictures of the male.

The male is darker than the female, and also looks a little darker than usual in these pictures, I wouldn’t be surprised to find him blue soon.

Anyways, here they are for those who asked

The male

He is getting close to the 6’ mark – not as thick as our female

Here is the only shot I ever took of our female – she is a really big snake – over 6’ long and as thick as 6’ long boa

Thanks for looking

Ryan

Thanks for all the nice replies.

TONY:

I have no idea if we ever will have eggs ready, as they are known as a tricky species to successfully breed, with very few people (as compared to other species) finding the key to repeated success.

I've read the females can lay their body weight in eggs (I assume after lay body weight), which are very large.

If we ever do get eggs, everyone will know really fast, haha.

From what I've read, you would have more success with a reverse trio. Males need to combat in order to be ready to breed.

Good luck with them!

I'd heard that too, a few times, but then other breeders including Dave Barker told me they only use 1 male. It's not like I can just go buy another male anyways.....

Could always use a woma, and spray paint it too I guess (inside joke)

We've implemented a new technique that seems to be working, if it works with the blackheads in the future, I will write an article about it.
