why is my dragon so small?
My female dragon is 9 inches and my male is 17 inches. They are brother and sister both born oct 2002, why is she so small?

What are your setups like (temp, substrate, things like that)???
What are thier diets like???
Knowing that info would help out, other than that they do grow t different rates but that is a huge gap if they were born to the same clutch.

Are they housed together by any chance? If so, it could be the female is stressed by the male (specially if he's making advances towards her), or he could be hogging the food or the best basking spots so she isn't getting everything she needs to grow properly.

If they are housed to gether I would sudjest putting a divider in the enclosure. You really dont want a brother and sister to mate. Aside from being just plain wrong and unmoral. INbreeding will lead to health problemes even death of neonates.
Please eveyone do not breed blood related reptiles . I know most of you dont but for the few that have tried its not worth the effort

I don't plan on breeding these two together, they are in separate tanks. The temp is 80 and she eats fine, I just don't get why she won't grow.

try put a sheet betwen each other, maybe she just stres by seeing that big male at her side.
I do that whit my betta splender, if i put out the sheet they panic.

They should have a basking spot in a range from 100-115 with an ambiant of 80-85.
What are their diets like?

I know you said that they were brother and sister. Is there any chance they could be inbred? I know that I had a dragon that was 9 inches long at 10 months old and he died of liver and lung failure due to inbreeding. (I had the vet do a necropsy) The brother might not be experiencing the effects of the inbreeding, but the female might be.
It's a possibilty...

Dragonslave, I am just curious as to how you can determine the cause of lung failure to be due to inbreeding.
