is it too late in the year to put my male and female brb together to try and breed them? if it is, when is the best time to put them together, and for how long should i leave them together for?
Too late most likely. Most will give birth after their 4-5 month gestation in he coming weeks. Mine stopped breeding in March. They started in December. Just like every year.
I'd wait. It won't physically hurt the animals, but what if the cycling doesn't work and then you go to try cycling at the "normal" time of year 3 months later?? I don't think that TWO periods of temperature cycling within a 6 month span is going to result in any success. I'd wait until its time when 99.99% of all Rainbows breed in North America.
But that's just my opinion. You never know until you try. Its your animals and your risk, not mine.
