Live hoppers?

Is it safe to leave live hopper mice in with baby balls unsupervised? They can crawl around on their own, but don't have their eyes open yet. I prefer f/t but when I eventually feed these guys I would just like to see them eat first, then switch to f/t.

Thanks
Shane

I would strongly recommend NEVER putting anything live in with your balls unattended. Period. If you're going to feed live, be responsible enough to watch over what's going on, and be there just in case.

It is not safe, under any situation, to leave live prey unattended to. Have the responsibility to put aside a few minutes of your time to supervise as your snake eats. So long as the rodent is definitely dead, it is fine to leave it in there overnight. Try not to place it over the heatpad - this will speed up the rotting process, and can create quite a horrid stench.
