I agree, I have never heard of a leo laying one egg at the beginning of the season unless it was her first time ever laying. I have had many female leos that were new breeders over the last 3 years and only had one lay a single egg in her first clutch. I guess I have been lucky as well because I have only lost a couple first clutch eggs to infertility. And most of the time it is one of the two eggs laid, not both.

Last year I sold 3 first time breeders to a couple people and these geckos had been with my males before they were sold and laid a single clutch for me and gave the new owners 6-10 more babies each. Not bad for first year breeders!
