I think he looks great!

Is he on sand? Sand isn't really the best substrate choice for a cal king (or most snakes). It can lead to a whole whack of poetentially dangerous problems. You might want to consider aspen shavings instead.

I thought it was sand at first too, but upon closer inspection looks more like a blanket
