just making sure
hey everyone
While i was lying in my bed last night i saw my male starting to bite at my female and chasing her around. Then they finally went into one of the hides i could see into and i saw they "express their love" for eacother.
What i want to make sure is that it takes about 15 days for her to lay the eggs, and once they are in the incubator it takes about 55 - 65 days, right?
Thanks

It could take as little as 15 days before she lays the first eggs, but chances are it will be a bit longer. I find it's usually close to a month after mating before the first clutch of the season arrives. If she's already 'working' on a clutch at the moment, the time will be shorter. If she doesn't have egg follicles ready, the entire egg production process has to be completed. From ovulation, making the yolk, applying the shell and all the other steps in between, it can take about a month. The next clutches though can be as frequent as 14 days or again, as long as a month.

Hi Matt-
It really depends on the individual female leo. Some may lay eggs 2 weeks after being bred, some may not lay for 2 months. It also depends on if the female has already begun to develop egg follicles at the time she is bred. I would say the average time is about 2 weeks though.
As far as egg incubation, if you incubate at 84 degrees, the eggs should hatch in around 60 days. Hope this helps.
