Your votes are needed
Kingsnake DOT com is running a poll in their Venomous Forum to decide wether or not to allow a Venomoid Forum. Kingsnake is a force that sets precedence in the herpetoculture community and this decision has the potential to affect how the public views venomoid procedures. If this is allowed, a classified section COULD reasonably follow to allow a venue soley for the sale of these mutilated creatures. Condoning venomoids by giving them a forum on a COMMERCIAL site could have a huge negative impact. Please cast your vote (whatever that may be). This is a way to take action AGAINST VENOMOIDS and stand up for whats right. It may seem insignificant, but the results may have a huge impact in the future.

I saw the vote section an few days ago and saw that there are some people who want that section :S I can't understand that. Why is it that people want venemoids.. why torture an animal. If you are affraid of the venom just keep non-venemous species.LEAVE THE VENEMOUS SNAKES ALONE !!!!!! I would love to see that people who do this to snakes get their b*lls cut of so that they won't make anymore babies with that additude like them.

I believe no one should ever own a venomous snake becasue if something happened, they would go after every snake that has done harm in the past or a snake capable of doing bad things, just like the pit bull. They made a dangerous dog list becasue of the pit and now there is like 10 other breeds on that list because of one dog. I feel the same would happen if a venomus snake bit someone. I might even have to give up my Burms because of a venomus snake that I feel no one should ever be allowed to own.

LOL My moms side of the family is from Desoto. I know it very well. I'm from Festus. I'm sure you know where that is. I'm living up in south county now but miss living down there at times. Washinton county near Hillsboro has some great herp spots, but i'm sure you know that.

I miss catcing those (collard lizards) along with blue racers. My stepfathers house was in washington county, when we would go out there i would disapear for a few hours into the woods and some small open cliff areas and go herping. I was young at the time and didn't care for snakes so if i seen one i went the opposite direction.
Have you been to the Offsets in MineLaMont, down near Farminton and Fredricktown. If not it's a huge spring that rose quite a while back that a lot of people go parting at durning the summer and they have quite a few snakes there. Seen what i beleive to have been a water moccosin swim right past me and a few friends. Just beware of the fish in there their worse than anything else. They bit a guys nipple ring right out and bit half of a mole a had off,(that was painfull wouldn't quit bleeding for at least an hour.
Sorry to switch topics on your thread, but i'm glad to hear someone else living from Missouri is on ssnakess.
Jamie

"what are venomoids?"
The procedure to remove the snakes glands is usually done by someone who is not a veterinarian. Improper instruments are used and there is often no (or improper) anesthetic to ease these animals suffering or proper sterilization to keep the snakes from getting severe infections. This is a very brutal process and many snakes do not survive the procedure.

I voted for what its wourth but as Jeff has done in the past he will do what makes him money. I just wish that people would not support these alterations. Perhaps if the big websites said we will not be party to these alteration nor will we no longer allow them to be sold through our site it would go a long way to stopping the needless deaths of countless animals. I would sure be more inclined to frequent a site that did that then one that didn't.
