is it ok if i put cork , oak in a tank with a bp ?
i picked up driftwood .... im not quite sure what it is .... what are the woods u gotta avoid already ?
Softwoods (pine, cedar, fir, etc) should be avoided. I would be weary of black walnut as well, I don't know if the wood is toxic, but the outer shell of the walnut is. Very few plants/trees can grow around a walnut tree. I believe apple may also contain some sort of nasty, not sure however.
Tons or harwoods are very toxic to humans, mostly the exotic ones. Walnut can cause severe reactions especially when working with it (ie dust). I for one am quite allergic to it, ut i can eat walnuts...
