beginer turtle

hello everyone! Well i just wanted to know what is a good begginer land turtle. i want to get one that is a begginers turtle.

A good one to start with,I would say, would be a mud or musk turtle...Common musk turtles are small,inexpensive and very hardy, they should also be legal where you are.

Matt, I think you misread it... he said "land" turtle.

Land turtles are reserved for Box turtles (Eastern, Three-toed, etc.). Then you have tortoises like Russians or Hermann's who are good beginner tortoises. But tortoises and box turtles are a little harder than aquatic turtles like RES, cooter and painteds.

ya go for RES, but if your really going for land, go for it, but RES is a good beginnger

Shoot, you're right lol..I did misread it.. In that case, a cool one that would be available to you would be a north american wood turtles or a species of box turtle..
