That would be really weird for a leo to actually be TOO fat... do you have any pictures?

By the way, when I first started reading your post, I thought you were talking about your girlfriend or something!

Lots of leos are too fat, fatty liver disease is the #1 killer of leopard geckos. Cutting out the mealies and switching to lower-fat foods like silkworms would help.

You don't want to reduce the food amount too quickly. Overweight animals that go on a sudden fast are more likely to develop the toxic form of fatty liver disease than ones who burn off their body fat gradually.

Nope, just the opposite. Here's my favorite bug nutrition reference. The EE column shows the fat percentage. Mealies average about 30% fat, crickets about 13%.

That leopard looks perfectly healthy to me. Doesn't really look overweight.

I agree with Blazin... if anything it could afford to gain some weight in the tail.

BTW, I think I have the same watch as the one in the second picture.

Sorry, Bartman, it's a pretty big table and only available as a PDF file. If you need a plugin to view it in your browser you can download it at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

I don't think your gecko is overweight at all.
