1 of my rats had baby's

Yipi lol 1 of my rats had 4 baby's yesterday sorry i just wanted to share that because it is the first time breeding rats and first pinks when should i be able to go around the cage and in to clean it?Thanks B.J.

You can normally clean the bins right away if needed, I handle babies right from day one. Rats are much more forgiving them mice

I wait until the next day to clean the cages. Was this a first-time mom? 4 babies seems like a really small litter.

Yep with me anyways i just got a couple more females the other day and i guess she was prego when i got her so if it is her first all together i could not tell you but thanks for the info B.J.

I handle my babies from birth on. My female rats are VERY good about letting me do so. I had one female (long retired now) that would actually bring me the babies out of the little box so that I could handle them. This same female always insisted on me holding her between babies being born.
