Jungle Escape!
Hey folks I put my jungle carpet in a new rubber maid today until I can get him into my custom built enclosure, well this rubber maid I cut out the top and put a screen on top so I could put a heat lamp on top...anyway I guess it weakend the side of the lids and I went over to my bros to work on my new caiman enclosure (pics of that coming soon), anyway when I got home I noticed my jungle gone, at first I thought he had hidden under the paper but after a real close look he was gone...I had an male brazilian rainbow escape lastyear...and found him several hours later, hope the same goes for this guy...he's about 4 feet, so I'm hoping it won't be that hard...sigh. I'll keep you guys posted.

it's amazing how well they can disappear! still no sign of the guy, I put a thawed out mouse for him....i've been placing it in different areas of the basement...hoping he'll smell it and come out and take it.....at least I'll know he's still in the area.

What room did he escape in? I would check that room really good, and then any room with direct acess to that one. They usually don't start off going very far. Good luck! Don't forget to check under, on top of, and in things (like drawers). It's amazing all the places they can be. Hope you find him soon.

My ball python got loose one day because of a stupid mistake on my part(forgot to put the lid back on) Well came back home after work a couple of hours later and noticed she wasn't in the cage so looked around and there she was no more than 4 feet from her cage under a couch. I got super lucky that day because the doors to ALL the rooms were open and she decided that she just wanted to go under the couch.

God, I hope that I never have an escape. There are roughly a half million places to hide in this old house.
Hope that you find your JC, murph.

Carpet pythons have a tendency to climb if they can when they escape, so make sure you check all the high areas that he could get to - on top of drapery rods, above ceiling panels, top of book shelves, etc. Best of luck finding him,
