What is the 'deli cup' feeding method and..

what is a deli cup?

Looking for the best way to feed a KSB out of it's tank. I keep hearing about the 'deli cup' way but am looking for details.

Thanks

As far as I know...that refers to the method of putting a snake into a small enclosure (deli cup) with a dead prey item. The idea being that the snake can't help but notice/smell the prey and instinct will kick in.

Oh b.t.w. as deli cup is a small plastic cup that you might typically get from a deli...

Deli cups, smaller margarine containers, small buckets, anything with an enclosed area will work. This is how we feed most of our kenyans. Put them in the enclosed area with a mouse, and stick them into a dark secluded area with no outside vibrations. It works wonders with those picky feeders who won't take dead prey.

Do you tihnk that could work when switching my ball python from mice to rats? Or will this just be stressful?

With our ball pythons, we use small rubbermaids, but it's the same basic concept. Just don't leave them in it for 2 days, and make sure they have enough room to constrict if they take a notion to, and enough room to get their mouth around the head.
