Shedding times

Hi guys

My corn normally sheds every 4 to 6 weeks and its been taking about a week from first signs of shedding (which is her hiding herself away and not coming out at all plus the usual milky eyes, not feeding) to actual shedding.

However this shed seems to be taking ages. She's been holed up in her log for best part of a fortnight. I keep lifting the log and checking on her and each time I just notice her eyes are milky, she stares at me and does the usual 'get away from me' kind of thing! So I just put the log back down and leave her to it.

Any suggestions? Does it take longer to shed as they get bigger? Is it normal for them to hide away for a couple of weeks?

Current check on the setup shows my temp at 80'C and my humidity at 60% - its 08:50 and the light has been on for about 30-50 minutes.

Thanks for your help.

Country:
With the outside temps cooling as winter approaches they tend to become less active and some may stop feeding. As far as shedding..just be patient.

Thanks for your advice, with the exception of yours Trevor. I don't know if its just me being funny but the way your reply came across a touch anti.

I'm not as experienced with snakes as most of you guys are, this is indeed my first snake. I'm not keeping her on 'my schedule' and apologies if my post implied that, I was simply giving the details and asking questions? Is that wrong of me as a newbie?

Anyway, thanks again for the advice.

One other question, is it a good idea in the winter to change the wattage light bulb to something a bit warmer?

Cheers
Chris
