no substrate incubation

I've only seen post on this here in reference to IJCP and JCP is this sutiable for all snake eggs? What would it not be good for or what would it be good for?(which ever list is shorter)

We incubated without substrate as per Jeff Favelle's incubator design for both cornsnakes and honduran milksnakes and it worked great - will be doing the same next year. Nice, clean set up and easy to observe eggs (when we did peek)
