My F***ing Hero!
Oh my goodness I just had the biggest scare of my life. I was cleaning the cages today because Montey has been off feed so I decided to clean everything up.
I finished Numair's cage and was about to start on Montey's. I lifted her hide and she wasn't there. So I /checked under everything, through the bark, everything...My first snake was MISSING. She hasn't escaped since she was young and the tank had a crappy lid. I was in shock...
So myself, my boyfriend Derek, and mom (who was FREAKING) started the search. Stupid me, forgetting all the "lost snake" threads, searched around the entire house in a shocked daze...
I then gathered myself and thought "Ok i'll check the ssnakess.com threads on lost snakes" and I read the thing Zoe I think left on the first step in finding them. Which is close off the snake room and check every warm and dark place.
Derek openned the closet door (Derek, by the way, is kind of afraid of snakes) and we started searching. I had a flashlight. So he lifted my mom's suitcase and there my baby was!
Derek almost had a heart attack. And I am so relieved.
My two Hero's of the day...Derek and SsnakesS.com
I love happy endings.
Jenn
PS. The only problem is that I have NO idea how she escaped. I tested the lid and it's not easy to take off or anything...Mom wants to duct tape it down now! lmao

Last night I had a ball python escape. I left the lid off when cleaning and forgot to put it back on. It was kind of funny because the cat loves the room because it is warm and he was sitting outside the door for a while and would not go in. This is odd because he spends his whole day in this room. From the nervous look on his face I decided to check it out and sure enough there was a snake crawling on the floor. The cat still will not go in the room today a freaks out when you bring him in.

you know what? In the last 3 days I have found snakes crawling on the ground in my house...lol...one was right in front of my door just kind of like saying 'hi...catch me if you can' (I was on the computer) and then yesterday I was cleaning up the larger's snakes cage when I saw this little shadow flying by and then today there was one in front of the washroom...and the funny thing was that they were all hypo female corn snakes....lol.....
hope that nothing else is lose in my house...lol
glad that you found her~

SO glad you found her!! good luck figuring out how she got out, though. Like Zoe said, she'll get out again if the problem isn't fixed.

Good job on finding her, I thought I lost a snake before but he was just super burried, but I remeber that(oh my god he could be anywhere)feeling.

Woohoo!!! I'm so happy you found her so quickly - you're very lucky! And I'm thrilled my thread helped find her, too
Ditto what Lisa said... you need to find how she escaped, or she'll do it again.

I found out how she was doing it. I was testing the cage lid at every single spot and I found that with just a BIT of pressure the middle part of the cage would lift enough for her to get out on both sides. So, until I can buy the new lid this week, my mom whipped out duct tape! hahaha
