Talking confused

neither of my bps are within breeding age, i was just wondering what size/age you breed your females, ive heard 1200g, and three years old. what do you go by?

oh and what size male (i have both)? thanx

Male is not so important as females. Males can breed much younger and do not have to have all the extra fat stores to support them, nor do they have to be fully mature. Males may be ready to breed at 8 months, some even younger, some may not be quite ready or willing yet. IMHO set weights should only be used as a rough guideline for breeding, and age, maturity, and condition should be the determining factor in breeding any reptile, not just balls. The general guideline for balls is females in their third year... so I would take a female in her third year, and if she has a good amount of fat stores to support her and the eggs (they turn pretty well all their fat in to eggs), and is in excellent condition, then I would give her a shot.
