Adult feeding

Just wondering what most of you feed to your adult red tails. Is their main diet rabbits or are rabbits a treat ? Does their "furriness" cause digestive troubles ?

Our larger red tails get only prekilled rabbits, and have no problems at all.

The hair doesn't present any digestive problems for your snakie. If that were the case the giant pythons would really be in trouble! As long as your snake is large enough to eat bunnies, then there is no reason they cannot be a staple. I feed my BC all rats (3', 3.5', 5.5', 6.5' 7.5'), but if I had a steady, reasonably priced bunny supplier I would be feeding my big girl bunnies as a staple.

Our 4' BCI gets alternating meals of rats and rabbits, depending on what's available at the time. As I said in another thread, even frozen rats are really hard to get in Alberta, and he goes NUTZ for rabbits.
