Humans aren't the only ones that dislike snakes...
Last night my dog, Shiba, was sitting in front of my Rosy's cage and my rosy was slithering all about. Shiba kept shifting her weight and looking very uncomforable about him but kept starting. Finally after a couple minutes she make this low grunt as if to say...I don't know why but I don't like that thing....Perhaps this fear of snakes goes beyond environmental factors.

haha. My dog has learned that when I am holding a snake, just walk away. LOL.
Once she decided to get a bit closer and a hatchling corn I had bit her right on the nose. LOL. Hasn't bothered the snakes since. haha

My dog also keeps well away when i handle any of my snakes. She watches them but thats it. She seems to know that they could be dangerous.

Our cats love sitting watching our snakes. When I get my 5ft Bull out, the snake is round my lap, cat at my side. They don't bother each other.

My dog is afraid of all my animals. Whether it is something as small as a hatchling leopard gecko or somethink as big as a large adult male bearded dragon. She will just move away from it or lower/turn her head, you can tell shes uncomfortable. My uncles dog on the other hand would kill ALL my animals if he had the chance. I remember when I went for a walk by a creek and I took both my uncles dog and mine. I found a neonate water snake and cought it. As soon as my uncles dog saw it he ran over and tried to rip it out of my hands. Luckily he missed the snake and got my hand instead (didnt draw blood or break the skin though) and I let the little water snake go. I have also seen him catch and kill frogs, aswell as other animals. :S

My little Bobby likes to come and lick all of my animals! I have to be careful and shoo him away cause one day I know he'll get tagged on the nose!
I'll dig up a pic that I took of his first introduction to a snake!

my dog is a very curious little silky terrier. She is constantly watching my snakes, and when I have one out, she wants to be up in my lap. I'm just waiting for the day that she gets too close and gets tagged. She is so inquisitive!

That's why we differ from the rest animals.
Animals has instinct, while humans has logic.
For animals is natural to behave that way.
For humans is lack of education
