Chicken Gizzards(sp)?
Does anyone feed these to there Sav. Monitors? I overheard someone at a pet shop say thats what they fed there monitor at home.

If they do, their reptile will be dead soon! These organ products given in SMALL QUANTITIES to LARGE (5 feet +) is OK, otherwise, stay away from them for vara-food.

Zoe: I think its the chicken that you have in your Chicken soup, but im not sure.
What kind of chicken/meats can i buy at the store as a staple food for them?

Its chicken innards, kidneys, hearts, necks, etc etc........ Its like 1.50 for a bunch of it, so that gives you an idea of the quality... its not something that should be a staple.

gizzard is a second stomach, a very muscular organ used to grind food found in some birds. Quite tasty though chewy lol.

You can try ground turkey. I give it to my nile every once in a while and he loves it.

So what should be staple food item for Savs? From Babies to Adults? Is there anything else i can use as a staple besides Crix and rodents?

I feed my tegu tuna everyonce in a while. I dont know if they have the same diet but maybe since there both varanids. Dont try it until you find out if they can eat it

You can give them hard boiled eggs as well as meal worms, crickets and mice.

So what is Everyones Feeding Schedule Like. Ex: Crickets(how many) every 2 days, Chicken innards every three days, A rodent once a week.???
what does it cost you weekly to keep them?
