This is my iggy's homemade enclosure. My hubby built this on a weekend, i think he did an excelent job don't you.

I have one question thou. What would be the best to clean the glass on inside. I have indoor/outdoor carpet inside and i scrub it with regular soap and water but need to know what to disinfect with and what to clean glass on inside with that won't hurt my babies.

can u use windex i dunno how you spell it but i dunno if that would harm ur babies but windex is the best thing to clean the class but u should make sure before u use it

I would think windex would put off to many fumes and that is not good for iggy's. I tried to use vinegar once but it just didn't do good enough job for me and stunk worse than the iggys did lol. Thank you for the advice thou anyone else have an idea.

There are disinfectant sparys you can get at pet stores. I think it is made by zoo med, but am not sure. They have different types that are for heat rocks, aquariums glass and the like. You could go check those out and see if they have the ingredients on them. It's probably close to vinegar or like windex.

Windex will kill your herps so nix that idea. The best thing to disinfect an enclosure with that is 100% non toxic to your herps is vinegar and peroxide. Just spray one on, and then follow by spraying the other over top (for some reason they don't have as powerful an effect if you mix them in the same bottle) and rinse. Vinegar is a great glass cleaner, leaves no streaks at all. For routine cleaning I jsut spray peroxide and wipe dry, but my enclosures are not glass, this method will leave streaks on glass. Peroxide/Vinegar kills more germs than bleach does.

Just regular handsoap or palmolive dish soap with water will do fine.

I have two iggys in this cage. Jazz one closer to camera and Rex the scardy iggy hiding behind limb. lol Don't know sex cause only a little over a year old now

Windex should only be used if you have a couple of days to let it outgas. Linds' suggestion about the vinegar is probably the best idea. Either that or lemon water, which works great on glass too. (I used that occasionally when I ran out of windex for household purposes... a little Realemon in water... worked great.)
