Gonna be in Vancouver on July 12 and 13.. whats good to visit there?
So anyway, work is sending me to Vancouver for a week for a high tech conference but I am leaving on Friday instead of Monday so I can have a weekend to look around the City. Anyone got any suggestions for places to visit? I heard the zoo there is pretty cool. Any other nice places?

Sad to say I've never been,

I forget where I went. But I did go to a beach when the tide was low and played with the little crabs you find when you flip the rocks! haha I also went to the aquarium and went mountain climbing...

Depends on what you're looking for. The Vancouver Aquarium is in Stanley park and that's pretty much a must see tourist destination, especially the amazon gallery. But if you wanna get your party on after dark, the nightlife (bars & clubs) are in gastown and in the richard's street/yaletown area... if you're interested in that kinda stuff of course!

Stay off east hastings.
Gastown is a trendy tourist trap with lots of bars, stanley park is amazing, if you are into the nudest thing there's wreck beach, i'm not sure when the PNE is, there's also the ski hills which are good for mtn biking in north van and west van, the skytrain is a nice novelty (it was all remote operated when I was living in vancouver). I also found the ferry out to gibsons and vancouver island to be pretty cool.
