Caging for Hots
Okay I know that the best type of cage for hots are the sliding glass, plastic cages. What I wanted to know is this, is there one brand more suited to keeping hots ie: is neo better then vision for keeping hots? What do you keep your hots in?

Visions are good for big unagile species...... I use them for bitis but would not use them for anything else....... The cages Brian uses are good for just about any species......

I have used neodesha's in the past and I absolutely hated them for hots....I would never use a neodesha cage for a venomous snake again
i build my own melamine/glass front enclosures....they work great for me!

Well the sills for the slidding glass are set back into the cage......This means the snakes could climb up on top of the sill..... You do not want to open a cage whith a pissed off cobra or rattlesnake that you cant see, above you arm....... Do you??? They can also hide between the sill and the floor of the cage....... I have modified one of my smaller visions for babies......... I put strips of wood around the inside of the sills so the neonates cant hide under them........

I prefer to build my own, but 20 years of woodworking helps a little. With a little common knowlege it isn't to hard.
In a couple of weeks B.W. can explain how they are built and work. I'm not to good at explaining.
If you need a little help just shoot me an e-mail, I will be glad to help.

I use aquariums turned on their sides with front plexi-glass sliders, works well for anything, hots included, and easy to lock with drilled holes and pins through both sliders.
