Smile Teasing the kids with a mouse

A photo of the kids all pretending to be rattle snakes at the same time. I was teasing them with a mouse to show a friend how they S up even at that size. A bit mean I know but it did look funny and they all got a pinkie for being good sports.

Cheers

Rick.

Nice pic, but are you sure they can't burm themselves on that lightbulb? Really suck if something happened to one of them because of it.

I know it looks scary Steve but its a 12v system and is cool enough to put your hand on no problem.
This is not how they are kept it was a holding cage while the hatchlings homes were cleaned and the lil fellas were made ready for a feeding

Ha ha , they look like little seals begging for food!

I use the low-wattage light bulbs in my Carpet cages too. It seems to work perfect and there's no risk of burning because I can put my hand right on the bulb. But it allows them to sit on that branch and get real warm (if they want to).

Hey, how'd you feed each one without them attacking each other? It seems like it would be a big free-for-all!!

Hi to Jeff and everyone,
What I do is take the lot of em out and feed them in small plastic boxes and when they have swallowed put them back in the big house.
I find that feeding them together, the stronger ones eat 2 or 3 pinkies and someone dips out on a feed so each one is numbered and fed on its own and then I put them all back in one cage as I find it makes them less snappy.
How are your hatchlings going Jeff?? Im hanging out to see how they turn out. Did they all hatch ok?? I hope so.

Now to you Terraweb, no they are not bredli's they are just coastal carpets that have some interesting markings and colours, it is something I have been working with for some time. I will try and give you a close up of the caramel with no black circles which is top left in the above photo so look at the shot after this post.

Cheers

Rick.

Those are really sweet snakes! Looks like it would be fun feeding them.

I fell for you, having the "problem to feed so many babies"

Nice carpets, I do like that one with little black.

Those are some of the most colorful Coastal hatchlings I've ever seen. Holy!

Yeah all the eggs hatched just fine! Thanks! Just gotta wait for the first shed to see which ones are gonna be the lookers!! And clutch #2 should be pipping in a week or so. Thank god I built a new baby rack!

Holy

Cheers man.
